About

Prosser Ranch Group Campground sits on a sage and pine-covered hilltop overlooking Prosser Reservoir on the western shore, within Tahoe National Forest about 10 minutes north of Truckee. The single group site accommodates up to 50 people and 10 vehicles in a tent-only configuration, making it unsuitable for RV camping. The site features five picnic tables, three fire rings, one large BBQ, and a campfire circle, all set within a scenic forest of Jeffrey pine and fir trees with sagebrush dotting the forest floor. The reservoir offers excellent recreational opportunities including kayaking, swimming, and fishing, with power boating allowed under a 10-mph speed limit. A boat ramp is located on-site. The surrounding area provides abundant trail access for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and off-highway vehicles, including the nearby Prosser Hill OHV trail system and the Commemorative Overland Emigrant Trail. Truckee is 10 minutes south with full amenities, while Lake Tahoe is 30 minutes away. Additional nearby recreation includes Boca Reservoir, Stampede Reservoir, and the Prosser Pits OHV area.
