About
Prosser Ranch Group Campground is situated on the western shore peninsula of Prosser Reservoir within Tahoe National Forest, offering a scenic setting surrounded by Jeffrey pine and fir trees with views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. The single group site can accommodate up to 50 people and 10 vehicles, making it ideal for family reunions, scout troops, or large camping parties. The tent-only campground provides picnic and serving tables, three fire rings, a large BBQ, and a communal campfire circle. Vault toilets are available on-site, but potable water is not available. Garbage collection is provided. Dogs are permitted but must remain on a leash no longer than six feet. Prosser Reservoir is popular for kayaking, swimming, and fishing. Power boating is allowed with a 10-mph speed limit, and a boat ramp is located nearby. The surrounding area offers hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and OHV trails. Non-street legal OHVs must be trailered from the campground to designated trails.
Directions
From Truckee, take Highway 89 North approximately 3.5 miles from I-80. Look for the Prosser Recreation Area sign on the right. Turn right onto the paved road and the campground will be on the left in approximately 1.5-2 miles.
