Alpine Meadow Campground sits in a peaceful alpine valley near Martis Creek Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Located just off Highway 267 near Truckee, this 24-site campground offers a quieter alternative to the busier Lake Tahoe area campgrounds while maintaining close proximity to regional attractions. The campground provides standard non-electric sites with vault toilets and potable water available at the campground entrance. An amphitheater is available for programs. The campground operates with a one-way counterclockwise traffic flow and enforces a 10 MPH speed limit. Each site accommodates up to eight people and two vehicles (one RV and one other vehicle). Sites are bounded by pea gravel and campers must stay within site boundaries. Martis Creek Lake prohibits motorized watercraft, creating an ideal setting for kayaking, canoeing, and paddling in a serene environment. The lake offers catch-and-release trout fishing. The surrounding area features hiking and biking trails, wildlife viewing, and photography opportunities. Nearby attractions include Lake Tahoe, downtown Truckee, Northstar ski resort, Reno, and Virginia City.

Directions

From State Highway 267, turn onto Martis Dam Road. Continue on Martis Dam Road for approximately 1.2 miles, turn right and continue 0.2 miles to the campground entrance.
