About
Silver Creek Campground is located 25 miles north of Garden Valley in beautiful Peace Valley at 4,490 feet elevation. The campground features 57 accessible sites accommodating RVs up to 50 feet, plus two large group sites (Lodgepole Springs for 80 people and Cabin Creek for 100 people). Sites include tent pads, picnic and utility tables, and fire rings, situated among partial shade from mixed-growth lodgepole pine forest with Silver Creek running alongside. Peace Valley offers exceptional recreation opportunities. Peace Creek Trail, Silver Creek Summit Trail, and Bull Creek Trail all begin nearby, providing access to hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and OHV trails. Silver Creek, Peace Creek, and the Middle Fork Payette River offer good-to-excellent fishing for rainbow trout and whitefish most of the year. In-season big game hunting for deer, elk, and bear is popular in the surrounding mountains. The campground provides paved roads and parking spurs, drinking water, and accessible vault toilets. Silver Creek Plunge, a privately developed hot springs resort within a quarter-mile, offers a hot springs pool, general store, playground, and sports courts. First-come, first-served sites are available; register at Silver Creek Plunge General Store. This is a pack-in/pack-out facility. Wildlife including deer, elk, bald eagles, and red-tailed hawks frequent the area.
Directions
From Boise, travel north on Highway 55 to Banks. Turn east on the Banks-Lowman Highway and continue east for 8 miles toward Garden Valley. Turn north on Middle Fork Road (Forest Road 698) and pass through Crouch, continuing north on Middle Fork Road approximately 16 miles to the Y intersection. Turn right onto Silver Creek Road (Forest Road 671) and continue 8 miles to the campground.
