About
Lower Silver Creek Dispersed offers primitive camping opportunities along the lower stretches of Forest Road 671 (Silver Creek Road) in the Emmett Ranger District of Boise National Forest. Situated at approximately 4,400 feet elevation in Valley County, this dispersed camping area provides a free alternative to the developed Silver Creek Campground located further up the road. As undeveloped National Forest land, there are no designated campsites, amenities, or services. Campers must bring their own water, pack out all trash, and be fully self-sufficient. The 14-day stay limit applies to all camping within a 5-mile radius during any 28-day period. Road access is seasonal, typically available from late May through fall depending on snowpack and road conditions. The surrounding Peace Valley area offers excellent recreation including fishing for rainbow trout and whitefish in Silver Creek and the Middle Fork Payette River. Multiple trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and OHV use are accessible nearby. Silver Creek Plunge, a developed hot springs facility, is located in the valley and provides an amenity option for dispersed campers.
