Prohibited by this order: Possessing, storing, or transporting non-pelletized hay, straw, or mulch in the Intermountain Region, unless it is certified as weed free by the state where the product originated.

Flat Fire GNA Salvage Road and Trail Closure

About

Boiling Springs Campground is located north of Garden Valley along the scenic Middle Fork of the Payette River in the Boise National Forest. The campground occupies a narrow mountain valley situated between a natural geothermal hot springs, a stream, and the Middle Fork Payette River, with steep, densely forested mountains rising on all sides. The 9-unit campground accommodates RVs up to 30 feet and offers easy access to the Middle Fork Payette River Trail and Wet Foot Trail systems. The nearby trailhead includes a hitching rack and visitor information, with dispersed camping areas available for horse camping. Numerous hiking, biking, horseback riding, and off-road vehicle trails crisscross the area. In winter, groomed snowmobile trails become available, and the area is popular for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The Middle Fork Payette River provides opportunities for rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and swimming. Anglers can fish for rainbow and bull trout, and big game hunting is popular in the surrounding mountains during appropriate seasons. Wildlife enthusiasts may spot nesting ospreys along the river, with elk and deer frequently grazing along the banks. Bald eagles, hawks, quail, and various waterfowl also inhabit the area. The nearby Boiling Springs hot springs are a popular destination for soaking.

Directions

From Boise, take State Highway 55 north 35 miles to Banks. Turn east onto Banks-Lowman Highway 17 and proceed to Crouch. At Crouch, take Forest Service Road 698 north approximately 13 miles to the snowmobile parking lot. Turn right on FS Road 671 to Silver Creek Plunge, then left on FS Road 678 and drive 7 miles to the campground.
