About

Sibley State Park's Equestrian Campground is one of twelve horse campgrounds in the Minnesota state park system, offering nine sites in a peaceful grassy field southwest of Lake 21. The campground caters specifically to equestrian visitors exploring the park's trail system, with sites designed to accommodate horse trailers and provide horse-friendly amenities. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill, hitching rail or high line for securing horses, and access to water and vault toilets. Manure bins are provided for waste management. Unlike some other Minnesota horse campgrounds, Sibley does not offer electric hookups. Sites accommodate one horse trailer or tent with a maximum of six people. The park itself surrounds Lake Andrew and features rolling hills, oak savannas, and prairies characteristic of west-central Minnesota. Beyond horse camping, Sibley State Park offers an interpretive center with exhibit rooms and observation deck, swimming beach, and boat access on Lake Andrew.
