About

Short Mountain Cove is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the east side of Robert S. Kerr Reservoir, where the Arkansas and Canadian Rivers meet in eastern Oklahoma's Cookson Hills. The reservoir spans over 250 miles of shoreline and 43,000 surface acres, long recognized for outstanding fishing with crappie, sand bass, channel and flathead catfish, and largemouth bass reaching record sizes. The campground features 41 standard electric sites plus one group shelter, all equipped with 30-amp electric and water hookups. Each site includes a fire ring/grill and picnic table. A boat ramp and courtesy dock provide easy water access, while two playgrounds and a basketball goal offer family recreation. A hiking trail departs from the campground and follows the shoreline east to various scenic overlooks. Gates are open from 6AM to 10PM daily. Check-in is at 6PM and checkout at 3PM. Quiet hours run from 10PM to 6AM. Stays are limited to 14 consecutive nights within any 30-day period.
