About
Cowlington Point occupies a wooded peninsula on Robert S. Kerr Reservoir, about eight miles south of Sallisaw in eastern Oklahoma. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates this campground, which features 38 sites ranging from standard electric with 50-amp hookups to primitive non-electric options. Site driveways accommodate rigs up to 60 feet, and each site includes a fire ring and grill. Two boat ramps with courtesy docks provide direct access to the reservoir.
Robert S. Kerr Reservoir spans over 43,000 surface acres with 250 miles of shoreline, making it one of Oklahoma's premier fishing destinations. Crappie, sand bass, catfish, and largemouth bass grow to trophy sizes here. Beyond fishing, campers can enjoy the playground, basketball court, volleyball court, and hiking trails that wind through the surrounding hills and along the water's edge.
Facilities include flush and vault toilets, hot showers, drinking water (some sites share spigots with neighbors), and a dump station for RV waste disposal. Gate hours run 6 AM to 10 PM with quiet hours enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM. Stays are limited to 14 consecutive nights within any 30-day period.
