About

Cookson Bend Campground is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and occupies a scenic peninsula on the eastern shore of Tenkiller Ferry Lake in the Cookson Hills of the Ozark Mountains. The campground offers 64 RV campsites with electric hookups (30-amp and 50-amp service) and 65 non-electric tent sites, with most RV sites being back-in. Visitors enjoy breathtaking views of 200-foot limestone bluffs rising from the water. The campground provides modern amenities including restrooms with hot showers, drinking water, a dump station, swim beach, playground, and boat ramps. Group picnic shelters with electricity are available for reservation. An adjacent marina offers concessions, boat rentals, and additional services. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am and limits stays to 14 consecutive days within any 30-day period. Tenkiller Ferry Lake is known as Oklahoma's clear water paradise, with 12,500 acres of water sourced by the Illinois River and Baron Fork. The lake's clear waters and high visibility make it popular with scuba divers, boaters, and anglers. Fishing is excellent for black bass, white bass, striped bass, crappie, and catfish. The area features dense oak-hickory forests, rolling hills, and abundant wildlife including deer, turkey, bald eagles, and migratory birds. Ten marinas are located around the lake, and the trout stream below Tenkiller Dam is one of only two year-round trout fisheries in Oklahoma.
