Old Mill State Park Campground

Open — Closed for the season. Camping season runs from May through October. Water systems are shut off during winter months due to freezing temperatures and are turned back on Memorial Day weekend.

Old Mill State Park Campground is a 26-site camping facility situated along the Middle River in Marshall County, Minnesota. The campground offers a mix of semi-modern campsites, with 10 sites equipped with 30-amp electric service and water hookups to accommodate RVs and trailers. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring for evening campfires. The campground features a centralized bathroom facility with flush toilets available year-round and seasonal showers. A playground area provides entertainment for children. The park's trail system intersects at the campground, offering easy access to over 7 miles of well-maintained hiking trails that wind through a unique transition zone of prairie grasslands and mixed deciduous and coniferous forests. A suspension bridge connects the campground to the day-use area, swimming beach, and picnic grounds across the Middle River. Old Mill State Park preserves the area's pioneering heritage with a restored 1880s grist mill powered by a Case steam engine, a historic log cabin, and Works Progress Administration-era stone structures. The park sits on an ancient beach of glacial Lake Agassiz and provides opportunities to spot wildlife including deer, moose, beaver, mink, and numerous bird species. A primitive group camp with space for 100 campers is also available across the river. The park transforms in winter with opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding, though the campground closes seasonally.

From Argyle, drive 12 miles east on County Road 4, then one mile north on County Road 4 to County Road 39. From Newfolden, drive 11 miles west on County Road 4.
