About
Lake Bronson State Park Campground sits in Kittson County in the far northwest corner of Minnesota, showcasing a distinctive landscape where prairie meets aspen-oak forest. The campground offers three distinct camping areas with diverse site options including wooded sites, open prairie sites for those seeking a true grassland experience, and lakeside sites near the reservoir. The Two Rivers Campground on the east end of the park provides additional camping opportunities. The park's centerpiece is Lake Bronson, a reservoir fed by the South Branch of the Two Rivers. Visitors enjoy a sandy swimming beach, fishing for various species, and quiet water activities including canoeing and boating. The park features the largest observation and water tower in the Minnesota State Park system, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Wildlife viewing is exceptional, with opportunities to spot deer, sharp-tailed grouse, sandhill cranes, and occasionally moose. Historic WPA-era structures, including Camp Bronson and Pioneer Cemetery, add cultural interest. Recreational trails accommodate hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling depending on the season. The campground maintains quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., with generator restrictions during those hours. Reservations are handled through the Minnesota State Parks reservation system online or by phone. The park serves as the recreational hub for Kittson County and offers a genuine northern Minnesota experience far from urban areas.
