About

Shelter Point Campground occupies a prominent peninsula at Glendo State Park, where 26 spacious gravel-pad campsites offer unobstructed views of Glendo Reservoir and the surrounding high plains. All sites accommodate large camping units and are easily accessible via an established gravel road. The open terrain provides exceptional stargazing but minimal shade. The campground neighbors the Glendo Marina, giving campers convenient boat ramp access without having to relocate. A small sheltered beach on the south side ranks among the most popular swimming spots on the reservoir's western shore. Three day-use group shelters are available, with one reservable from May 1 through September 30. The park offers year-round access with reservations required May 15 through September 15 and first-come-first-served camping the rest of the year. Vault toilets serve the campground. Dump stations and seasonal showers are available elsewhere in the park. Electric hookups are not available at Shelter Point but can be found at Two Moon, Reno Cove, Bennett Hill, and Sandy Beach campgrounds within the park.
