About

Mule Hill Campground sits within the expansive Glendo State Park, just a quarter mile southeast of the main fee booth along Glendo Park Road. This intimate campground features 13 developed campsites with gravel road access and established parking pads. Sites 1 through 6, 8-10, and 12 are positioned beneath or along a stand of mature cottonwood trees, offering at least partial shade during warmer months. Sites 7, 11, and the group site 13 are more exposed with minimal shade. The campground offers two pull-through sites (4 and 7) for easier RV access, while the remaining sites require backing in. Site 7 stands out with its large, ADA-compliant cement pad. Site 13 serves as a group site accommodating up to three camping units. The campground's vault toilet is conveniently located on the eastern side, closest to sites 1-6. A unique feature of Mule Hill is its seasonal relationship with the reservoir. From early May through mid-July, the water typically rises into the trees, giving campers direct access to Glendo Reservoir from their campsites. After July, as the bay drains, the nearest water access becomes available through the south side of nearby Whiskey Gulch Campground. Glendo State Park itself spans 10,000 acres of land and 12,000 acres of water, offering 45 miles of multi-use, non-motorized trails perfect for hiking and mountain biking year-round.
