About
Red Hills Campground is a unique camping destination at Glendo State Park, situated on a series of hills that slope toward the reservoir. The campground takes its name from the deep red rock formations that surround the area and form dramatic cliff faces along much of its border. The campground's 22 campsites are spread across a large, generally wooded area with varied terrain and access to the water. The campground features diverse site types to accommodate different camping styles. Sites 2-5 are large pull-through sites with at least partial shade, suitable for larger RVs. Sites 6-9 are smaller, ideal for tent camping or smaller units. Sites 10-15 include both standard and group sites, with sites 12-15 being undeveloped and requiring four-wheel or all-wheel drive access via a steep, undeveloped road. Sites 16-22 provide the closest water access, with sites 18-22 positioned near the water's edge, though they may be impacted during high water periods. Glendo State Park encompasses approximately 10,000 acres of land and 12,000 acres of water, offering year-round recreation on one of Wyoming's top walleye fisheries. The reservoir provides excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and water-based activities alongside traditional camping experiences in a scenic setting.
