Turkey Creek Campground sits within Shawnee State Park in Ohio's scenic Appalachian foothills, offering 107 campsites in a heavily wooded setting near Roosevelt Lake and Turkey Creek Lake. The campground features 86 electric sites and 21 non-electric sites that accommodate tents and trailers, though some non-electric sites may be tent-only due to terrain variations. Two camper cabins with limited furnishings are also available for reservation. The campground provides modern amenities including bathhouse facilities with showers, laundry services, and a camp store that operates seasonally. Pets are permitted on all sites. Turkey Creek Lake offers opportunities for boating and fishing, with rowboats, canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and pedal boats available for rent from the camp store during the warmer months. The nearby Shawnee Nature Center and Historic Cabin, located adjacent to the Turkey Creek Boat Ramp, provides educational programs on select days. Shawnee State Park encompasses over 1,000 acres adjacent to the expansive 63,000-acre Shawnee State Forest, offering extensive hiking trails including a 40-mile backpacking trail. The park features public beaches on Roosevelt and Turkey Creek lakes, access to the Ohio River through a full-service marina facility, and an 18-hole championship golf course within a short drive. The campground's location on State Route 125 provides convenient access to the park's diverse recreational opportunities.
