About

Greenbo Lake State Resort Park, located in the rolling hills of northeastern Kentucky, offers a well-equipped campground surrounding the picturesque 225-acre Greenbo Lake. The campground features 102 sites spread across multiple categories: 24 primitive non-electric sites, 35 standard electric sites with 30-amp service, 39 full-service sites with water, electric, and sewer hookups (including 16 pull-through sites up to 51 feet), and 4 equestrian sites for horse camping. Modern amenities include bathhouses with hot showers, flush toilets, three dump stations, laundry facilities, and a camp store with groceries and propane. The park provides extensive recreational opportunities including 33 miles of hiking trails through Appalachian forest, a marina offering pontoon, canoe, and motorboat rentals, a fishing pier, and an 18-hole miniature golf course. The community pool features a spiraling waterslide and is available to campers for an additional fee. The Jesse Stuart Lodge anchors the resort, named for the celebrated Kentucky author who found inspiration in these hills. Campers should note that out-of-state firewood is prohibited to prevent invasive species; firewood is available for purchase locally. Golf carts are permitted with a weekly ($25) or annual ($100) permit. Maximum occupancy is 8 persons and 2 camping units per site.
