About
Pike Lake State Park is nestled in the scenic wooded hills of southern Ohio's unglaciated Appalachian plateau region. The 13-acre lake at the heart of the park was dug entirely by hand by the Ohio Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s, and remains surrounded by 12,000 acres of state forest. The park offers diverse lodging options including five Basic Cabins that sleep four people (available summer months only, no linens provided), ten Preferred Cabins that sleep six people (year-round with heat and AC, linens provided), and one Group Lodge accommodating up to 16 people. Two day use shelters are available for groups of up to 80 people. All cabins feature full kitchens with dishes and utensils, bathrooms with showers, and screened porches. Pets are permitted in Basic Cabin 5 and Preferred Cabins 16 and 19 only. The park's dense forests of oak, hickory, tulip, and ash provide habitat for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and other wildlife. Recreation includes six miles of hiking trails, a 155-foot sand swimming beach with changing areas, fishing for largemouth bass, catfish, and bluegill, and boating with electric motors only. Rowboats, kayaks, and canoes are available for rental. An 18-hole disc golf course adds to the amenities. The park features a nature center with seasonal programs, picnic areas with grills and tables, and a seasonal camp store.
Directions
From Bainbridge, Ohio, take US-50 east for approximately 4 miles. Turn right onto Potts Hill Road and continue for about 3 miles. Then, turn left onto Pike Lake Road; the park entrance will be on your left.
