About
Carter Caves State Resort Park Campground sits within one of Kentucky's most geologically unique landscapes, featuring over 20 caves carved through limestone cliffs. The campground provides 128 sites ranging from primitive tent camping to full-hookup RV sites with 30/50 amp electric service. Water is available within 25 feet of most sites, and select sites offer full sewer hookups. The equestrian campground (sites H1-H8) features pull-through sites with full hookups for horse camping. The park's cave system is the main draw, with guided tours available through Cascade Cave and its dramatic 30-foot underground waterfall, as well as X Cave for more adventurous exploration. Above ground, over 20 miles of trails wind through the surrounding woodlands for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Additional facilities include a 9-hole golf course, fishing lake, boat launch, restaurant, and gift shop. The campground operates year-round, though water and electric hookups may be unavailable during freezing temperatures. Bathhouses with flush toilets and hot showers serve all camping loops. A dump station and laundry facilities are on-site. Reservations are available through ReserveAmerica up to 12 months in advance; equestrian site reservations must be made by calling the park directly.
