About
Seaquest State Park is a 475-acre year-round camping destination set among towering Douglas fir trees in Cowlitz County, Washington. The park sits in the shadow of Mount St. Helens and connects via pedestrian tunnel to the popular Mount St. Helens Visitor Center at Silver Lake, offering easy access to volcano exhibits and interpretive programs. The campground provides 85 total sites spread across forested loops, including 52 standard tent sites, 18 partial hookup sites, and 15 full hookup sites concentrated in the T-loop. Three hiker/biker sites accommodate non-motorized travelers, while five yurts offer a roofed alternative with electricity and heat. Amenities include flush restrooms, hot showers, potable water, a dump station, fire pits, picnic tables, and Wi-Fi. The park also features a kitchen shelter, playground, volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. Over eight miles of hiking trails wind through old-growth forest and wetland habitats, providing opportunities for wildlife viewing including deer, beavers, and numerous bird species. The park's location along Spirit Lake Highway makes it a convenient stopover for visitors heading to Johnston Ridge Observatory or exploring the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument.
Directions
From I-5, take Exit 49 (Castle Rock/Mount St. Helens). Head east on WA-504 (Spirit Lake Highway) for approximately 6 miles. The park entrance is on the right, across from Silver Lake.
