About

Rainbow Falls State Park is a 129-acre camping park situated along the Chehalis River in Lewis County, Washington. The campground offers 40 standard campsites, eight partial hookup sites, three hiker/biker sites, and two equestrian sites, with a maximum site length of 60 feet. One group camp accommodates up to 60 people with 14 camping units. The park is surrounded by stands of old-growth forest with trees reaching up to 200 feet tall. The park features three miles of hiking trails on the south side of the Chehalis River, accessible via State Route 6 parking. A spur trail connects directly to the Willapa Hills Trail, a 56-mile route spanning from Chehalis to South Bend. Recreation opportunities include river swimming and freshwater fishing in the Chehalis River, though there is no designated swimming area or lifeguards. Twenty picnic tables are available first-come, first-served, and one reservable kitchen shelter provides water, electricity, and seating for groups. The park operates year-round for day use with hours from 8:00 a.m. to dusk. Pets are allowed on leash, and fires are permitted in designated fire pits and grills. A Discover Pass is required for vehicle access.
