About

Lewis and Clark State Park is a 616-acre camping park situated in one of the last major stands of old-growth forest in Washington state. Located near Winlock in Lewis County along Jackson Highway, the park features dense coniferous forest, streams, wetlands, and wet prairie environments. The park was developed in part by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. The park offers 8 miles of multiuse trails for equestrians and hikers, with trail etiquette requiring hikers to yield to horses. Five primitive equestrian campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and trailer parking is provided on the east side of the road. The park also features a group camp accommodating up to 50 visitors, two kitchen shelters, and Lewis & Clark Lodge, a group vacation house that sleeps up to 24 indoors and accommodates 50 guests total. Day-use amenities include picnic shelters, an outdoor amphitheater, a playfield, swing set, and three horseshoe pits. The park features restrooms with showers, drinking water, fire pits, and grills. A Discover Pass is required for vehicle access. The nearby Jackson House State Park Heritage Site offers additional historical interpretation.
