About

Located along the Naches River at milepost 93.2 on Highway 410, Sawmill Flat Campground provides an ideal setting for family camping in the Northern Cascade Range. The campground features 24 sites including standard, tent-only, and walk-up options, along with a historic Civilian Conservation Corps shelter that adds character to the area. The location offers excellent access to recreational opportunities throughout the seasons. During summer and fall, visitors enjoy hiking trails like the popular Frost Mountain Lookout Trail, fishing in the Naches River, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The nearby Boulder Cave National Recreation Trail is one of the most popular destinations in the district. River enthusiasts can experience whitewater rafting on the American River, while backpackers have access to designated Wilderness areas with thousands of pristine acres. The campground sits within the diverse Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, where elevations range from below 1,000 feet to over 9,000 feet. The Naches River has served as a natural corridor between the east and west sides of the Cascades through Naches Pass, used by Native Americans and settlers throughout history. While the campground operates seasonally, the surrounding area provides winter recreation opportunities including skiing and snowshoeing.

Directions

From Yakima, take US-12 west for approximately 25 miles. Turn left onto Nile Road, then left onto WA-410 west. The campground is located at milepost 93.2 on Highway 410 along the Naches River.
