About

Indian Flat Group Campground sits at 2,700 feet elevation on the banks of the American River in the eastern foothills of the Cascades. The site features a large central area with several spur sites arranged around a campground loop, all beneath a canopy of mixed conifers. Facilities include four vault toilets, potable water from a hand pump, picnic tables, and fire rings. The campground is located off State Route 410 near milepost 89, approximately a quarter mile east of the Bumping River Bridge. Within 10 miles, visitors can access hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and rafting. Nearby Bumping Lake offers boating, fishing, and swimming. The American Ridge Trail provides over 26 miles of terrain connecting to the Pacific Crest Trail, featuring alpine lakes and ridge line views. Reservations are made through Recreation.gov. The gate is locked; the combination is provided in your confirmation letter. There is no trash collection, so visitors must pack out all garbage.

Directions

From Naches, WA travel west on State Route 12 for 4.4 miles, then continue straight onto SR 410 W for 26.5 miles. The campground is on the south side of SR 410 near milepost 89, a quarter mile east of Bumping River Bridge.
