Indian Flat Group Campground is set along the American River in the eastern foothills of the Cascades mountain range, within Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Situated beneath a towering mixed conifer forest at 2,700 feet elevation, this group site offers a wonderful secluded setting for large gatherings. The campground features one large site with multiple spur sites extending around a loop, accommodating up to 65 people and 22 vehicles. Amenities include picnic tables, campfire rings, four vault toilets, and drinking water available via hand pump. Located just off State Route 410 near milepost 89, the site provides convenient access while maintaining a peaceful, natural atmosphere. There is no trash collection; visitors must pack out all garbage. Indian Flat Group Campground is within 10 miles of diverse recreational opportunities including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and rafting. Nearby Bumping Lake offers boating, fishing, swimming, and a sandy beach. The American Ridge Trail provides over 26 miles of spectacular hiking and horseback riding through forests, meadows, and alpine landscapes, connecting to the Pacific Crest Trail. The surrounding wilderness supports abundant wildlife including deer, black bear, native fish, and migratory birds. The Goat Rocks Wilderness, with peaks reaching over 8,000 feet, offers stunning high-elevation adventures.

Directions

The campground is on the south side of SR 410 near milepost 89. From Naches, travel west on State Route 12 for 4.4 miles. Continue straight onto SR 410 W for 26.5 miles. From Enumclaw, depart SR 164/Griffin Ave toward Wells St. After half a mile turn left onto SR 410/Roosevelt Ave. Follow SR 410 approximately 67 miles east.
