Kaner Flat Campground
Closed — Closed for the winter season. Typically operates from Memorial Day weekend through late October. Reservations available through Recreation.gov from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend; first-come, first-served after mid-September.
Hydrologic Outlook issued April 10 at 4:30PM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR
ESFPDT Moderate rain this weekend in the Washington Cascades and northern Blue Mountains combined with snowmelt from above normal temperatures will lead to river rises this weekend and early next week. Most rivers are currently running at low levels and the increased streamflows will not be a problem. However, the Naches River at Cliffdell and at Naches are expected to rise above Action Stage early Saturday through Monday. The Grande Ronde River at Troy is expected to rise but stay barely below Action Stage Monday through Tuesday morning. Only localized minor flooding is expected. Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service for additional information.
About
Kaner Flat Campground is located in the Little Naches Drainage within Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, surrounded by ponderosa pine forest at 2,700 feet elevation. This popular 49-site campground features an RV loop with long pull-through parking spaces, making it particularly accommodating for larger rigs. The campground is a favorite base camp for OHV riders, with extensive trail systems for dirt bikes, jeeps, and ATVs nearby. Anglers can fish the Little Naches River, while hunters use the area during fall seasons. The campground offers paved sites in single and double configurations, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Amenities include flush toilets, potable water from hand pumps, and an onsite Forest Service host during peak season. Between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, 25 sites are reservable through Recreation.gov, while after mid-September all sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis. ADA-accessible sites are available. Nearby attractions include Boulder Cave National Recreation Trail and the Chinook Scenic Byway. The area provides opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, gold panning, and enjoying spectacular views of Mount Rainier and the surrounding alpine peaks.
