Hydrologic Outlook issued April 10 at 4:30PM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR

April 10th, 4:30 PM — 8:00 PM

ESFPDT Moderate rain this weekend in the Washington Cascades and northern Blue Mountains combined with snowmelt from above normal temperatures will lead to river rises this weekend and early next week. Most rivers are currently running at low levels and the increased streamflows will not be a problem. However, the Naches River at Cliffdell and at Naches are expected to rise above Action Stage early Saturday through Monday. The Grande Ronde River at Troy is expected to rise but stay barely below Action Stage Monday through Tuesday morning. Only localized minor flooding is expected. Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service for additional information.

About

Ponderosa Campground is a developed/dispersed camping area situated in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, positioned within a popular off-highway vehicle recreation area along Little Naches Road. The campground features 5-6 non-designated camping spots that collectively can accommodate approximately 9 vehicles, making it an ideal basecamp for OHV enthusiasts and 4x4 groups seeking access to nearby trail systems. The facility provides basic amenities including one vault toilet, a bulletin board with area information, and a self-pay iron ranger for fee collection. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations available. At $8 per night for a single site, it offers an affordable option for groups looking to explore the surrounding trail network. Located off Highway 410 and accessible via Little Naches Road (Forest Road 19) and Road 1903, the campground sits in a forested setting typical of the eastern Cascades. Campers should come prepared to bring their own water as none is available on-site, and be ready to pay camping fees with cash or check.
