Sawmill Campground

Open — Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. Water has been turned off for winter and will remain off until Memorial Day. Reservations available May through September.

About

Sawmill Campground sits at the mouth of Sinks Canyon in Sinks Canyon State Park, just outside Lander, Wyoming. This compact campground offers five campsites total: one fully ADA accessible site, two roadside trailer/camper sites, and two pull-in tent sites. While primarily functioning as a day-use area with a large picnic shelter, the campground provides a convenient base for exploring the park's unique geological features, including the famous Sinks and Rise where the Popo Agie River disappears and reemerges. The campground is situated at the base of soaring canyon cliffs on the eastern slope of the Wind River Mountains. During warmer months, drinking water is available from a hand pump, though this is shut off during winter. A snowmobile and ATV trail begins at the campground, leading up to Shoshone National Forest, making this a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Sites are available for reservation during peak season or first-come, first-served during the off-season.
