Sawmill Campground
Open and accepting reservations through September 30, 2026. Potable water is on. All sites are reservation-only May 1 through September 30; first-come, first-served October 1 through April 30. Access is weather dependent during winter months.
About
Sawmill Campground sits at the entrance of Sinks Canyon State Park, approximately 6 miles southwest of Lander, Wyoming. This compact campground offers just 5 campsites, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a quieter camping experience within the dramatic limestone canyon walls of the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River. The campground includes one fully ADA-accessible site, two roadside sites suitable for trailers and campers, and two pull-in tent sites. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and picnic table. Facilities include vault toilets and seasonal potable water pumps. Firewood is available by donation. There is also a large day-use picnic shelter available for reservation and a small playground. Nearby attractions include the famous Sinks, where the Popo Agie River disappears into a cave, and the Rise, where it reemerges. Popo Agie Falls Trail and numerous rock climbing routes are accessible from the park. The park's visitor center operates daily during summer months.
Directions
From Lander, head southwest on WY-131 (Sinks Canyon Road) for approximately 6 miles. Sawmill Campground is located just inside the state park boundary.
