In north central Wyoming, Bighorn Mountains Southeast, Bighorn Mountains West, Northeast Johnson County, Southeast Bighorn Basin and Southeast Johnson County. In northwest Wyoming, Absaroka Mountains, Cody Foothills, Jackson Hole, North Bighorn Basin, Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains and Yellowstone National Park. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Western Fremont County in central Wyoming on the east side of Togwotee Pass between the Pass and Dubois, WY... * WHEN...Until 830 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 531 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen with more storms in the area. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Sheridan Creek, Wind River, East Fork Long Creek, Deception Creek, Trout Creek, Brooks Lake Creek, Calf Creek, Lava Creek, Papoose Creek and Middle Fork Long Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Big Atlantic Gulch Campground sits in Wyoming's historic South Pass area, a region rich in gold mining history and outdoor recreation opportunities. Located just one mile from Highway 28 on the west side of Atlantic City Road, the campground provides convenient access to the nearby ghost towns of Atlantic City and South Pass City. The BLM-managed campground features 10 campsites equipped with fire rings and picnic tables. Vault toilets and garbage collection are provided, and potable water is available when weather permits. The site is ADA accessible and can accommodate medium-sized recreational vehicles. An on-site host is occasionally present during the season. This is bear country, so proper food storage is essential. The typical season runs from June 1 through October 31, though opening dates vary with snowpack conditions. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit.

Directions

From Highway 28, turn onto Atlantic City Road. The campground is located 1 mile from the highway on the west side of the road.
