Atlantic City Campground
Typically open June 1 through October 31. The campground is currently closed for the season and expected to reopen around June 1, 2026. All sites are first-come, first-served with no advance reservations.

ESFRIW The interaction between increasing tropical moisture and an approaching midlevel area of low pressure will bring widespread rain showers across a large portion of western Wyoming starting late Saturday night. Given the high moisture content, some areas could feature locally heavy rainfall and possibly lead to localized flooding. Poor drainage areas, urban areas, and steep terrain will be the most susceptible locations for this isolated flooding. Many locations across western Wyoming could see 1 to 2 inches of rainfall through Tuesday morning. Remember, if you encounter a flooded roadway, Turn Around, Don't Drown!

Atlantic City Campground sits in Wyoming's South Pass area, a region rich in gold rush history and outdoor recreation opportunities. Managed by the BLM Lander Field Office, this 18-site campground provides a convenient base for exploring the surrounding sagebrush country and historic mining districts. The campground can accommodate large recreational vehicles and offers ADA-accessible facilities. Amenities include vault toilets, fire rings at each site, picnic tables, garbage collection, and potable water when weather permits. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Sites cost $20 per night, or $10 with a Senior Annual Pass, Senior Lifetime Pass, or Access Pass. Visitors should be bear aware, as this is bear country. The area offers access to historic Atlantic City, nearby trails, and the Continental Divide. A camp host is occasionally on site during the operating season.
Directions
From Highway 28, turn southeast onto the old highway, then turn south onto Atlantic City Road. The campground is located approximately 1 mile from Highway 28.
