About
Atlantic City Campground is situated in the South Pass area of central Wyoming, managed by the BLM's Lander Field Office. This established campground offers 18 campsites equipped with fire rings, picnic tables, and vault toilets. Water service is provided weather permitting during the operating season. The facility can accommodate large recreational vehicles and includes ADA accessible features. Garbage collection is provided at the campground.
The campground serves as a base for exploring the historic South Pass region, which was once a booming mining area for gold and uranium. Visitors can access nearby hiking, fishing, and biking opportunities in the area. The campground is located in bear country, so proper food storage and bear awareness practices are essential. A campground host is occasionally present during the season.
Access is via Highway 28, turning southeast onto the old highway, then south onto Atlantic City Road. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Sites are $20 per night, with discounted rates available for holders of Senior Annual Pass, Senior Lifetime Pass, or Access Pass.
