The Garni Guest House offers a comfortable year-round retreat on a peninsula along Savanna Lake in Savanna Portage State Park. This heated accommodation sleeps up to six people with one bedroom containing a full bed, two twin beds, and a full futon. The guest house includes a full kitchen with amenities and one bathroom with a small shower. An unattached garage with a heated bunk room is located 100 feet from the main house, providing additional space. The property is situated within walking distance of miles of rolling hills with hiking and snowmobile trails that traverse the park's nearly 16,000 acres of mixed hardwoods, pines, lakes, and bogs. Rental includes use of a rowboat, with an electric trolling motor available for an additional daily fee. The guest house provides parking for up to six vehicles. Guests must bring their own bedding and linens and are responsible for cleaning after their stay. Savanna Portage State Park offers extensive recreational opportunities including fishing from the nearby pier, swimming at the beach, and exploring historic trails once traveled by the Ojibwe, Dakota, fur traders, and European explorers. The park features approximately 32 miles of snowmobile trails in winter and 27 miles of hiking trails, making the guest house an ideal base for year-round outdoor adventure.

Directions

From McGregor, Minnesota, head northeast on State Highway 65 for approximately 17 miles. Turn right onto Lake Place and follow the signs to Savanna Portage State Park. The Garni Guest House is located within the park on a peninsula of Savanna Lake.
