The Garni Guest House at Savanna Portage State Park offers a unique lodging experience on a scenic peninsula of Savanna Lake. The heated cabin accommodates up to six guests with one bedroom featuring a full bed, two twin beds, and a full futon. The unit includes a full bathroom with shower and a complete kitchen. An unattached garage with a heated bunk room sits about 100 feet from the main house, and parking accommodates up to six vehicles. The guest house is within walking distance of the park's 27 miles of hiking trails and provides direct access to Savanna Lake recreation. A rowboat is included with the rental, and an electric trolling motor is available for $20 per day. The lake supports northern pike, bass, and panfish. Guests must bring their own bedding and linens and are responsible for cleaning after their stay (supplies provided). No pets or smoking are permitted. Reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance through the Minnesota DNR reservation system.

Directions

From McGregor, take State Highway 65 north for approximately 11 miles, then turn east onto County Road 14 and continue for about 6 miles to the park entrance. The park is 17 miles northeast of McGregor off the Great River Road Scenic Byway.
