Pokegama Dam Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility situated in the heart of northern Minnesota's lake country along the Mississippi River, just west of Grand Rapids near Cohasset. The campground offers 19 electric back-in sites and 2 primitive tent-only non-electric sites, accommodating both RV campers and tent campers. A group day-use picnic shelter with electric is also available. The campground provides full amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, a dump station, boat ramp, playground, and fish cleaning station. The Mississippi River offers exceptional fishing opportunities for walleye, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegills, sunfish, and other species. Boaters and anglers have direct access via the on-site boat ramp. The surrounding landscape features a forest of mixed hardwoods and towering red pines, creating habitat for diverse wildlife including bald eagles, loons, ducks, geese, porcupines, black bears, and chipmunks. Wild blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries grow seasonally on the forest floor. Birders particularly enjoy viewing bald eagles and loons from the park banks. Nearby attractions include the Judy Garland Museum, Forest History Center, Itasca County Historical Society, and the Mesabi Bike Trail.

From Grand Rapids, Minnesota, take Highway 2 west for 2 miles, turn left at signs and follow to campground.
