* WHAT...Dangerous swimming conditions are expected along the Lake Superior shoreline due to high wave action and strong rip currents. * WHERE...Minnesota Park Point and Wisconsin Point Beaches. * WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...High wave action can make swimming difficult on days such as this. Incoming waves in rapid succession can tire even an experienced swimmer quickly. Rip currents can move you away from land. To avoid being swept away, swim parallel to the shore to exit a rip current.

Moose Lake State Park Campground sits in Carlton County surrounded by rolling terrain with woods, ponds, and fishing lakes. The semi-modern campground offers 35 sites: 20 with electric hookups and 15 non-electric wooded sites, plus 2 walk-in sites for those seeking more seclusion. Sites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 60 feet. Amenities include drinking water, flush and vault toilets, hot showers, and a dump station. The park features Echo Lake with a swimming beach, boat ramp, and ADA-accessible fishing pier. The visitor center houses an interactive agate museum, highlighting the region's geological heritage. Nearby, the Willard Munger Trail stretches 60 miles from Hinckley to west Duluth, offering additional recreation opportunities just two miles from the park.

Directions

Located at 4252 County Road 137 in Moose Lake. From I-35, take Exit 214 and head east on County Road 73, then turn south on County Road 137 to reach the park entrance.
