About

Lakeside Campground sits within Boysen State Park, which surrounds the 19,000-acre Boysen Reservoir created by Boysen Dam on the Wind River. The park spans a dramatic landscape where the Wind River Canyon cuts through the Owl Creek Mountains, offering excellent fishing for walleye, perch, and trout, along with boating, swimming, and wildlife viewing opportunities. The campground features 18 sites spread across gravel terrain, with 8 configured as pull-through spots accommodating larger RVs and trailers. Each site includes a picnic table, and campfires are permitted in designated areas. The campground has a boat ramp for direct reservoir access, though it lacks the attached dock found at other park launch points. Water spigots provide drinking water throughout the area, and vault-style restrooms serve the camping area. Boysen State Park operates year-round, though the reservation system runs from May 15 through September 15. Outside that window, sites are first-come, first-served. A dump station is available at park headquarters from April through October, and a marina with convenience store operates seasonally between the Brannon and Tamarask campground areas.
