Sand Hollow State Park is one of Utah's most popular state parks, combining warm blue reservoir waters with striking red sandstone desert landscapes. The park centers around Sand Hollow Reservoir, offering excellent boating, fishing, swimming, and diving opportunities. Multiple campground options include Westside, Sandpit, Lakeview, and Beachside campgrounds, ranging from primitive beach camping to sites with full hookups. All developed campgrounds feature fire pits, picnic tables, and restroom facilities with showers. The park provides direct access to over 15,000 acres of Sand Mountain's sculpted sand dunes, making it a premier destination for OHV enthusiasts. A tunnel under SR-7 on the south side of the park connects to these extensive dune riding areas. The park accommodates both tent and RV camping, with several sites offering full hookups including water, electric, and sewer. Group sites are available for larger parties. Open year-round, Sand Hollow State Park operates with seasonal hours and offers reservations through Utah State Parks' Reserve America system. The park includes modern amenities such as dump stations, showers, and even rental cottages. With its combination of water sports, OHV recreation, and quality camping facilities, Sand Hollow serves as an ideal base camp for exploring southwestern Utah's red rock country.
