Open — Open year-round with reservations available up to 12 months in advance. During the off-season from November through March, modern restrooms and showerhouses are closed, and potable water is available at the frost-free spigot at the visitor center. Camping is limited to 15 days within any 30-day period.

Campground 2 at Sam A. Baker State Park is situated in the heart of Missouri's Ozarks, approximately two miles from the park entrance near the visitor center and main recreation areas. The campground offers access to the St. Francis River and Big Creek for fishing, canoeing, and swimming, while the ancient St. Francois Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop for camping. Both basic and electric sites are available, with some offering 50-amp service for larger RVs. Family campsites provide extra space for those traveling with children. The campground is open year-round and accepts reservations up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks system. During the peak season from April through October, the campground features modern restrooms, hot showers, and potable water. Hiking trails ranging from easy to challenging are accessible from the campground area, and the park's visitor center offers exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the region. The park store provides camping supplies and essentials within easy reach of the campground.

Directions

From Patterson, take Highway 34 west for approximately 5 miles, turn right onto Highway 143 which leads into the park. Campground 2 is located 2 miles past Campground 1, near the visitor center.
