Campground 1 is one of two main campgrounds at Sam A. Baker State Park, a scenic park nestled in the St. Francois Mountains of the Missouri Ozarks. The campground operates seasonally from April 1 through October 31 and offers a mix of basic, electric, and family campsites to accommodate various camping styles. Electric sites provide 30-amp or 50-amp service for RV campers. The campground features well-maintained facilities including hot showers, flush restrooms, vault toilets, and a dump station. Running water is available throughout the on-season. Each campsite comes equipped with a parking pad, picnic table, grill, and lantern post. Family sites double these amenities across two camping pads. Sam A. Baker State Park encompasses over 5,000 acres along Big Creek and the St. Francis River, offering excellent opportunities for hiking, fishing, swimming, and wildlife observation. The park's Mudlick Mountain Store provides camping supplies, and the Mudlick Mountain Grill offers dining options. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks reservation system.
