About

Piedmont Park sits on the shores of Clearwater Lake, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers impoundment known as a "wilderness lake" due to its lack of private boat docks and miles of unspoiled shoreline. The campground occupies a scenic setting in the Ozark foothills, surrounded by sycamore and maple trees with views across the lake to rugged, bluff-studded terrain. Spring brings flowering dogwood, redbud, and wild plum. The campground offers 97 sites across multiple loops, with 29 sites featuring both electric (30 amp) and water hookups, 56 sites with electric only, and some non-electric options. Amenities include hot showers, a dump station, picnic shelters, playgrounds, a swimming beach, and a boat ramp. Each site accommodates up to 10 people and 2 vehicles. Firewood restrictions are in effect to prevent invasive species spread. Recreation centers on the lake with opportunities for boating, jet skiing, canoeing, swimming, and fishing. Wildlife viewing is popular with waterfowl, deer, fox, and geese in the area. Nearby attractions include Sam A. Baker State Park, the historic Civil War site at Fort Benton, and local drive-in theaters.
