Saltwater State Park Campground

Open

Campground closed as of March 24, 2026 due to flooding and erosion impacts. No reopening date announced. The park is reevaluating camping operations while day-use areas remain open 8 a.m. to dusk.

About

Saltwater State Park sits on the shores of Puget Sound between Seattle and Tacoma, providing an accessible urban escape with 1,445 feet of saltwater beach. The 137-acre park features tide pools, driftwood-strewn shores, and McSorley Creek winding through a forested ravine with trails crossing rustic bridges. The underwater artificial reef makes this the only Washington state park offering scuba diving opportunities. When operational, the campground offers 15 standard sites nestled in the forest along the creek, with restrooms, showers, and a dump station. Sites accommodate vehicles up to 50 feet with limited availability. Wood fires are prohibited in the campground. A seasonal snack shack operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with weekend service in spring and fall.
