About

Blake Island Marine State Park is a 475-acre island in Puget Sound, accessible only by private boat or commercial ferry service. The campground offers 44 standard campsites spread across the island, with the main campground allowing up to eight people per site and west-end sites limited to six. All sites include fire pits and picnic tables, with drinking water, flush restrooms, and showers available. The park features over five miles of hiking and biking trails through old-growth forest, plus volleyball courts and horseshoe pits. A group camp accommodating up to 50 people is available year-round by reservation. Three Cascadia Marine Trail sites on the west side serve kayakers and other human- or wind-powered watercraft. Moorage options include buoys, linear dock space, and a 1,500-foot float system. Boats over 45 feet must use the dock. The island has a pack-it-in, pack-it-out policy with no trash receptacles. Tillicum Village, which offered Native American cultural experiences, closed operations but the longhouse structure remains.

Directions

Blake Island is accessible only by boat. From Seattle, travel approximately 8 miles southwest across Puget Sound. From Bremerton, travel east across Sinclair Inlet. Argosy Cruises operates seasonal ferry service from Seattle's Pier 55. Private boats can moor at the dock, floats, or buoys on the northeast shore.
