About
Kanaskat-Palmer State Park encompasses 320 acres on a small, forested plateau with two miles of shoreline along the Green River. The campground offers a natural forest setting with 50 campsites split between two connected loops, including 19 partial-hookup sites with electricity. For those seeking unique accommodations, yurts are available with accessible restrooms and showers nearby. A group camp can accommodate up to 80 people. The park is renowned for expert-level whitewater rafting and kayaking, with hand-launched access to the Green River rated Class II to IV depending on the section. Anglers can fish for trout in the river, while hikers enjoy three miles of trails through the forest. The park also features a large reservable kitchen shelter with water and electricity, picnic areas, and a horseshoe pit. Wildlife viewing and seasonal wildflowers add to the natural experience. Campers should note that the local fire station uses a siren to summon volunteer firefighters at any hour, and nearby BNSF railway tracks may occasionally produce train noise, though this is rare. The park operates year-round from 8:00 a.m. to dusk, and a Washington State Discover Pass is required for vehicle access.
