About
Dash Point State Park sits at the northern edge of Federal Way where Puget Sound meets dense second-growth forest. The 461-acre park offers over half a mile of saltwater shoreline perfect for beachcombing, wading, and watching marine life. A network of trails winds through towering Douglas fir and western red cedar, connecting the campground to the beach and providing options for both easy strolls and longer hikes. The campground accommodates tent campers and RVs up to 32 feet with a mix of standard and utility sites tucked into the forest. Six rustic cabins provide roofed shelter with electric heat, bunk beds, and futon couches for those who want to camp without a tent. A group camp area with individual sites and a large communal fire ring serves larger parties. Modern amenities include restrooms with showers, drinking water, and a trailer dump station. Summer brings interpretive programs with amphitheater talks on Friday and Saturday evenings and naturalist-led walks throughout the weekend. The park's proximity to the Seattle-Tacoma metro area makes it a convenient escape for urban residents seeking forest and shoreline without a long drive.
