Open — Open year-round. Some shelters are available first-come, first-served while Beach Shelters can be reserved online or by calling (866) 644-6727. Golf Pro Shop Shelters require calling Salt Fork Lodge at (740) 435-9000. Park open 6am to 11pm daily.

About

Salt Fork Shelters are located throughout Ohio's largest state park, which encompasses thousands of acres of forested hills, meadows, and a 2,952-acre lake. The park offers six different shelter areas: Marina Shelter (north parking area), Beach Shelters (two shelters near main beach, reservable), Campground Shelter (main campground parking area), ADA Picnic Shelters (three shelters off Park Road 27), Horse Camp Shelters (two shelters), and Golf Pro Shop Shelters (reservable by calling Salt Fork Lodge). Most shelters feature picnic tables, grills, and electric outlets with nearby restroom facilities. The park provides exceptional recreational opportunities for day visitors including unlimited horsepower boating on the lake with eight launch ramps, fishing for largemouth bass, crappies, bluegills, walleyes, and muskellunge, and 15 scenic hiking trails ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. Additional amenities include a 2,500-foot swimming beach, top-rated 18-hole golf course, archery range, bridle trails, and the Salt Fork Eco-Discovery Center. The historic Kennedy Stone House offers a glimpse into 1837 pioneer life and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Directions

Located in Guernsey County in eastern Ohio, six miles north of Lore City. Shelters are distributed throughout the park at various locations including the marina, main beach area, campground, and near the golf pro shop.
