About

Salt Fork Equestrian Camp is located within Salt Fork State Park, Ohio's largest state park at 17,000 acres in Guernsey County. The campground offers 40 primitive campsites specifically designed for equestrian enthusiasts, with no hookups available. Amenities include flush restrooms with heated showers, picnic tables, fire rings, tie lines, stock water, and a pavilion for gatherings. The camp serves as the primary trailhead for five separate bridle trails that wind through the park's forested hills, ravines, and open meadows adjacent to Salt Fork Lake. The trails are primitive, single-track on natural surfaces and are of moderate difficulty. All trails begin and end at the horse camp except for the Red Loop and White Loop B. Ample parking is available for both overnight campers and day-use riders. While the equestrian campsites are primitive, campers have access to park amenities including a camp store and dump station. The park's scenic landscape offers beautiful lake views and serene surroundings. Reservations are required and can be made through reserveohio.com or by calling 1-866-OHIOPARKS. The campground typically operates seasonally from April through October.
