About
Salt Fork Equestrian Camp sits within Salt Fork State Park in Guernsey County, Ohio's largest state park spanning 17,229 acres. The dedicated equestrian campground provides 40 primitive campsites designed to accommodate horse trailers and offers direct access to 74 miles of bridle trails winding through forested hills, ravines, open meadows, and along Salt Fork Lake. The bridle camp features flush restrooms, two shelter houses, picnic tables, fire rings at sites, tie lines for horses, wash stations, and stock water. While individual sites lack utility hookups, registered campers can access full campground amenities including heated shower houses, a camp store, dump station, private beach, and boat launch. The primitive single-track trails traverse natural surfaces with some steep climbs and shallow water crossings. Reservations are available through ReserveOhio up to six months in advance. The park operates year-round with reduced services from December 8 through April 1 when only Loop A and the Bridle Camp remain open. During winter, water systems are not operational.
