About
Salmon River Campground is divided into two sections: a riverside area and sites on the north side of Highway 75, totaling 30 campsites including one double site. Situated among lodgepole pines and sagebrush at 6,500 feet elevation, the campground offers a scenic setting along the Salmon River in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The campground serves as an excellent base for fishing the Salmon River and accessing the Casino Creek trailhead, which leads hikers to Little Casino Creek, Big Casino Creek, and the Casino Lakes. The area is also known for its proximity to natural hot springs. The historic town of Stanley is just 5 miles southwest, where visitors can explore the Stanley Museum and learn about the region's rich history. All sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis with a 10-day occupancy limit within a 30-day period. The campground provides vault toilets, potable water, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Pets are allowed on leash.
