About
Glacier View Campground occupies a prime location on Redfish Lake's north shore, surrounded by the iconic peaks of the Sawtooth Wilderness at 6,500 feet elevation. The 64-site campground includes 9 double sites, all set within a lodgepole pine forest that provides partial shade. Paved roads and parking spurs make navigation easy, and three playgrounds offer entertainment for families. Redfish Lake is the recreational hub of the area, with excellent opportunities for boating, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing for rainbow trout and Kokanee salmon. The Redfish Lake Visitor Center sits within a quarter-mile, offering interpretive programs, evening activities, and exhibits on local wildlife, geology, and history. Sandy Beach boat launch provides lake access, and the Redfish Lake Lodge offers equestrian stables, a dump station, and boat rentals. Hiking options are exceptional, with the Fishhook Nature Trail nearby and access to the 750+ mile trail network crisscrossing the Sawtooth NRA. Alpine Way, Fishhook Creek, Redfish Lake Creek, and Bench Lakes trailheads are all in the immediate area, and the Idaho Centennial Trail passes nearby.
