About
Casino Creek Campground is a scenic first-come, first-served campground located along the Salmon River in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The campground offers 19 sites including two double sites, with sites 18 and 19 designated as tent-only. Sites 12, 13, and 14 accommodate horses and pack animals with hitching rails for livestock tethering. The Casino Creek trailhead sits within the campground, providing direct access to trails along Big Casino Creek and Little Casino Creek. These trails lead to the Casino Lakes, with routes extending into both the White Cloud Mountains to the east and the Sawtooth Mountains to the west. The area offers excellent fishing opportunities in the Salmon River and surrounding creeks. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water, and picnic tables. The campground operates seasonally from May through September 21st. Single sites cost $18 per night with one vehicle included, while double sites run $36 per night with two vehicles included. Pets are allowed on leash, and there is a 10-day occupancy limit within any 30-day period within a 30-mile radius of SNRA campgrounds.
Directions
From Stanley, travel approximately 6 miles northeast on ID-75. Turn right, cross the bridge over the Salmon River, and continue into the campground.
