About
Mountain View Campground offers an intimate camping experience on the east side of Little Redfish Lake in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. With just six first-come, first-served campsites, this small campground provides a quieter alternative to the busier Redfish Lake area while maintaining excellent access to outdoor recreation. The campground is ideal for paddlers and anglers, with direct lake access for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. Motorized watercraft are prohibited on Little Redfish Lake, ensuring a peaceful environment. Several major trailheads are nearby, including Alpine Way and Redfish trails leading into the Sawtooth Wilderness, and Boundary Creek trail accessing the White Clouds Wilderness. The dramatic peaks of both wilderness areas provide stunning photographic opportunities. Campers enjoy flush toilets and potable water on-site. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit. The Redfish Lake Visitor Center is a short distance away, offering interpretive programs and information. Occupancy is limited to 10 days within any 30-day period across the entire SNRA within a 30-mile radius. Pets must be leashed, and horses are permitted.
