About
Roxie Peconom Campground is a quiet, primitive camping area tucked away in Lassen National Forest at 4,800 feet elevation. The campground features 10 walk-in sites, meaning campers park in a designated area and walk a short distance to their campsites. This walk-in format provides a more secluded camping experience compared to typical drive-up sites. The campground offers basic amenities including a vault toilet and a hand pump for water, though water availability can vary seasonally. No fees are required to camp here, making it an excellent option for budget-conscious campers seeking a quieter, less-developed experience in the Lassen area. The 14-day stay limit applies, with quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM. Access is straightforward: from Susanville, drive west on Highway 36 for 9 miles, then turn left onto Forest Road 29N03 and continue for 2 miles to reach the campground.
