About
West Eagle Group Campground is part of the Eagle Lake Recreation Area in northeastern California's Lassen National Forest. Located on the southeastern shores of Eagle Lake at roughly 5,100 feet elevation, the campground provides two distinct group camping areas designed for larger parties. One site accommodates up to 75 guests while the other can host up to 100 guests, making this an ideal destination for family reunions, scout troops, or organized group outings. The campground sits within a forest of mature pine trees with a grassy understory, offering full shade coverage at both sites. Each group site is equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, ADA-accessible flush toilets, and potable drinking water. Both sites feature gravel driveways and can accommodate vehicles, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet in length. Eagle Lake itself spans 27,000 acres and offers outstanding recreation including boating, swimming, water skiing, sailing, and fishing for Eagle Lake trout. A boat ramp is located nearby, and a 6-mile trail paralleling the lake provides opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Winter visitors can enjoy snowmobiling in the surrounding area.
Directions
