About

Christie Campground sits on the southwestern shoreline of Eagle Lake within Lassen National Forest's Eagle Lake Recreation Area. At 5,100 feet elevation in a mature forest of pines and firs, this is the most secluded of the five campgrounds around the lake, located about five miles from the marina and boat ramp. The campground's 69 sites include 47 reservable sites and 22 walk-in first-come, first-served sites. Nearly half feature pull-through parking spurs, and nine are designated as group sites. Eagle Lake, California's third-largest natural lake at 22,000 acres, is renowned for fishing the Eagle Lake Rainbow Trout, a California Heritage Trout. The lake also provides ample space for swimming, kayaking, water skiing, and all types of boating. A 5.2-mile paved hiking and biking trail begins at Christie Campground and connects all recreation facilities in the area. The campground's location offers direct access to Forest Service OHV riding trails and is particularly favored by kayakers and personal pontoon fishing enthusiasts. Each site includes a paved parking spur, table, and campfire ring with grill. An RV dump station is located two miles away.
