About
Christie Campground is located in the Eagle Lake Recreation Area of Lassen National Forest, situated on the southwestern shoreline of Eagle Lake at an elevation of 5,100 feet. The campground rests within a mature conifer forest of pines and firs, offering 69 campsites spread across three loops: Troy, Manzanita, and Mahogany. Each site is equipped with a paved parking spur, picnic table, and campfire ring with grill. Nearly half the sites feature pull-through parking spurs, and nine larger sites are designated as group sites. Eagle Lake is California's third-largest natural lake at 22,000 acres and is renowned for fishing the Eagle Lake Rainbow Trout, a California Heritage Trout species. The lake also accommodates swimming, kayaking, water skiing, and all motorized and sailing watercraft with no two-cycle engine restrictions. The recreation area includes five campgrounds, three day-use areas, and a marina connected by a 5.2-mile paved hiking and biking trail. The Osprey Overlook provides scenic views of the southern end of Eagle Lake and the surrounding forest basin. Campers should bring their own drinking water as none is available at the campground. Vault toilets are provided on-site. An RV dump station is located approximately 2 miles away, and showers and laundry facilities are available at the Eagle Lake Marina about 5 miles away. Fire restrictions may be imposed during hot, dry conditions.
