About
Rooster Rock State Park is a popular day-use destination in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. The park features three miles of sandy riverfront beach ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and windsurfing, along with two disc golf courses and a boat launch with basin access to the Columbia River. The park offers five reservable facilities: three covered picnic shelters (A, B, and C) with water and electrical outlets that can accommodate 250-500 people each, and two open group day-use areas (D and E) for groups of 50-200. An off-leash dog area is located at the west end of the park, and a clothing-optional beach area is available in a separate, screened location. No overnight camping is permitted at Rooster Rock State Park. Visitors seeking camping accommodations should head 10 miles east to Ainsworth State Park at I-84 exit 35, or access Government Island by boat west of the park.
Directions
Take I-84 to exit 25, approximately 22 miles east of Portland. The park entrance is immediately off the exit.
